The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies will address the Brazil, Russia India, China and South Africa (BRICS) Business Council in Durban tomorrow where the council will be hosting its sixth annual meeting. The meeting is part of the build-up to the 10th BRICS Summit that will take place in Johannesburg from 25-27 July 2018.

Arts and Culture Minister, Mr Nathi Mthethwa will on Sunday, 22 July 2018 officially open the 3rd BRICS Film Festival at Playhouse Company in Durban, KwaZulu Natal as part of the 10th international BRICS Summit.

The 3rd BRICS Film Festival is set to kick off this July in Durban

As the year 2018 completes the first decade of the BRICS Summit, South Africa will in the month of July host the 10th BRICS Summit and the 3rd BRICS Film Festival. As a member of BRICS, the South African Government through the Department of Arts and Culture (DAC) will take over the responsibilities of hosting the 3rd BRICS Film Festival from 22 – 27 July at Playhouse in Durban, KwaZulu Natal.

This serves as a reminder to all media accredited to the 10th BRICS Summit scheduled for 25-27 July 2018 in Sandton, Johannesburg, that live accreditation has commenced on Tuesday, 17 July 2018.

Media are encouraged to collect their accreditation cards before Tuesday, 24 July 2017.

Minister Nomvula Mokonyane addresses BRICS media forum

The Minister of Communications, Ms. Nomvula Mokonyane will on Thursday, 19 July 2018, deliver a keynote address at the BRICs Media Forum.

South Africa will co-host the third BRICS Media Forum in Cape Town on July 18 and 19, with 120 delegates from key media houses in the five-country alliance and from Africa attending.

DURBAN: One of the events aligned to the tenth annual 2018 BRICS summit - an international relations conference attended by the heads of state or heads of government of its five member states Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – is the BRICS Film Festival coming to the Playhouse from 22 – 27 July as part of Durban’s city-wide July focus on film.

Media Roundtable on the 10th BRICS Summit and Media Tour

Members of the media are invited to the BRICS roundtable discussion to be held under the theme “BRICS in Africa: Collaboration for Inclusive Growth and Shared Prosperity in the 4th Industrial Revolution”.
